Struggling To Make Money Online? You Are Not Alone.
How to Turn What You Know Into Real Online Income (Even If You’re Starting From Scratch)
If you’re feeling stuck, stressed about bills, or just trying to find a way to earn something extra — this is for you. In the video above, we dive deep into how you can take what you already know and turn it into online income, even if you feel like you’re starting with nothing.
For those that prefer reading…
Start With What You Know
Grab a notebook and write down three things you know how to do well. Think practical — not flashy. This could be:
- Woodworking
- Sewing
- Car repair
- Organizing
- Research
- Music production
Chances are, you’re sitting on a skill that solves a real problem for someone else. This is absolutely imperative to figure out — if you’re a golfer, into football stats, a really great gardener….all of these are niches you can start earning BIG money in. But you need to do the exercises to figure it out!
What Problems Do You Solve?
Next, identify what problems your skill can solve. For example:
Skill | Problem It Solves | Content Idea |
---|---|---|
Woodworking | People want DIY furniture | How to build a bench video |
Sewing | People need repairs & tutorials | PDF patterns or beginner tutorials |
Car Repair | Fixing headlights or brakes | YouTube videos + affiliate tools |
Organizing | Clutter & time management | “Organize your garage” content |
Research | Decision overwhelm | Comparison blogs/videos |
Story Time
Back in 8th grade I was failing school terribly. My scores were awful, and I could not pay attention in class. I was so bored, and dismayed with how the school treated me that I literally could not bring myself to focus on memorizing stuff I saw little value in…
But I was always interested in computers.
Our computer lab wasn’t anything fancy but we had a great teacher who was laid back, cool, and wanting to help. I’d end up going there sometimes during lunch to see what he was up to, and we’d get to help move machines, set them up, install software, and more.
It was this time in the lab that I learned something about myself, I loved this stuff, and I wanted to get my own setup.
It pushed me to save my money, buy my first Dell, and eventually… a few years later… bought my first actual Server.
This lead me to building my own computer from scratch so I could customize it.
It lead to experimentation, using an old wall compound bucket of spackle as a computer case…
But most importantly I learned a lot about the hardware, how they work, and that tech knowledge was the lever that got me almost all of the “jobs” I had over the years, even if the job title itself had nothing to do with computers!
My point is… look into what you care about, and understand that things like sports stats are huge. People bet big money on sports.
Gardening -> People buy Aerogardens and expensive gardening gear.
Golf -> People spend THOUSANDS on clubs, gloves, hats, and clothes.
Basketball -> People are always looking for news about their favorite players, and maybe you’re really good at figuring out stuff before anyone else — you could have a membership site for die hard fans.
The list is endless.
Validate with Search
Use autocomplete tools or YouTube search to see what people are actually looking for:
- “How to build a wooden gate”
- “Sewing machine for beginners”
- “How to research stocks”
These are signals — proof there’s demand for your knowledge.
Monetization Options
Now that you’ve identified what you know and how it helps people, here are a few ways to monetize:
- Affiliate Marketing: Recommend tools or courses. For example:
- Ted’s Woodworking: Up to $125/sale
- Legal affiliate programs: $500/call via OfferVault
- Sewing products (beware of low payouts on Amazon)
- Digital Products: Sell PDF guides, patterns, or courses.
- Coaching or Services: Offer repair, advice, or group sessions (like a sewing club on Zoom).
- YouTube Content: Start with simple tutorials and let it grow over time.
- Etsy/Shopify: Sell handmade or customized items.
Proof That It Works
Let the numbers speak:
- $27/month recurring from a single affiliate program → 30 people = $800+/mo
- 100 people → $3,200+/mo
- 1,000 people → Six-figure income
It scales. Slowly at first, but it scales.
